Katie Inman is a creative, competitive, and AP award-winning multimedia journalist. She has had four years of on-air television experience.
Originally from the small town of Dandridge, Tennessee, Katie is a senior at Middle Tennessee State University studying Multimedia Journalism.
In March of 2018, two months before graduation, Katie accepted a position as an early morning Multi-Skilled Journalist at WBIR Channel 10 News in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Currently, Katie is gaining hands-on experience working as a news intern at WKRN News 2 in Nashville, Tennessee. Previously, Katie interned at WBIR Channel 10 News in Knoxville, Tennessee and with the largest radio news team in East Tennessee at News Talk 98.7 WOKI.
Recently, Katie worked as the News Director for MT10–the highly successful student-run television station at MTSU. She applied her leadership abilities and knowledge from her three years of reporting experience to mentor reporters, anchors and producers in the newsroom and out in the field for four 30-minute LIVE broadcasts per week. Katie has gained experience as a Reporter and Anchor for the station– shooting, writing, and editing her own stories for the newscasts each week. Her on-air experience is not only in news– Katie also hosts MT10’s infotainment morning show, The RISE.
In March of 2017, Katie was honored to receive six Collegiate Associated Press Awards– two of which being first place spots for Best Television Reporter and Best TV Sports Reporting.
Katie’s reporting has tracked the white nationalist rally in Murfreesboro, the university’s shift to a new governing body, and President Trump’s visit to Nashville.
Katie is an inventive and plugged-in journalist and storyteller. Katie always looks for the more creative and original way to do things, and this shines through in her stand-ups and packages. To promote stories, Katie uses Facebook Live and videos posted to Twitter to inform her audience on social media.
